The FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) program is for students from grades 7 or higher.  There is an application process to join those teams, as there is limited availability for team members.  The FIRST Tech Challenge season typically begins with a kickoff event in September, where the new game is revealed, and it runs through various local qualifiers, regional championships, and culminates in the FIRST Championship. 

Our middle school team applications closed on August 20th and we unfortunately do not have any seats open at this time. We encourage you to continue developing STEM and robotics skills through other avenues (such as school teams, STEM lab, etc.), and welcome your application next year. Applications open mid-July. You can look out for school emails about applications or find them on our website or Facebook page.

The FIRST^® Robotics Competition (FRC) program is for high school students, regardless of school affiliation.  We have an interest form than can be filled out at any time.

Columbus Robotics strives to provide members with the opportunity to become part of an international event and make many new friends around the world. Participation with the team will provide opportunities to Learn and develop marketable skills such as mechanical, electrical, and software technologies as well as program planning, practical problem solving, learn and practice teamwork skills that will be beneficial in many aspects of life, develop an understanding of how functions in a company work together to accomplish a mission, be eligible for numerous scholarships, have amazing opportunities to network with experienced mentors, judges, industry sponsors, and other members on the team and around the world.
