November 1st - Robot Building

I will be bringing:

- small drill press
- belt/disc sander
- small band saw
- miter saw

I have built two new work benches and organized the solder station.

There’s still work to do and equipment to acquire, but we are getting there slowly but surely.

If you want to build a robot from spare parts here’s an idea of some parts you can purchase and bring.

- Servos from a hobby shop ($12 each)
- Basic Stamp 2 and Board of Education (Radio Shack)
- Sonar Sensor (Radio Shack)
- Double Sided Tape (mounting servos)
- Remote Control XMIT/RCVR (optional)
- Cheap or Expensive Remote Control Car (Radio Shack, Toy Store, Hobby Shop)

I can provide lexan parts for mounting.

Beginning Robotics Workshop

We will having our first robot building workshop November 1st, from 1pm to 5pm. The cost will be $200. In the class you will:

• Build a BOE Bot Robot from a kit.
• Program the robot
• Compete with your robot in an obstacle course
• Learn about more sensors and ways to program your robot
• Take your robot home

Net Meeting - April 30th @6:30pm
